Utility Construction to Affect Traffic on King Street in Pottstown

Road Closed

POTTSTOWN, PA — PECO Energy has announced that utility construction will commence on eastbound King Street in Pottstown Borough, Montgomery County. The project is set to begin on Wednesday, September 4, and will continue until Friday, November 1. Construction work will take place weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

During this period, eastbound King Street will be closed between Route 100 and Shoemaker Road. To facilitate traffic flow, a detour has been established. Motorists are advised to use Berks Street, Route 663 (High Street), and Manatawny Street as alternative routes. The detour aims to minimize disruptions while maintaining access to local areas up to the designated work zone.

PECO Energy is undertaking this project under the authority of a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit. The construction is expected to enhance the utility infrastructure in the area, ensuring improved service delivery to residents and businesses.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution and allow extra travel time when navigating through the affected areas. Traffic backups and delays are anticipated, particularly during peak hours. It is crucial for commuters and local residents to stay informed about the progress of the construction and any potential changes to the schedule.
