PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced plans for resurfacing on Broad Street (Route 611) and Salford Station Road. This work is part of extensive projects to repair and pave over 200 miles of state highways in the Philadelphia region.
In Philadelphia, alternating lane closures will occur on Broad Street between Penn Square and Oregon Avenue. These will take place from Tuesday, September 3, through Friday, September 6, between 7:00 PM and 5:00 AM for milling. Additional closures are scheduled for Wednesday, September 4, through Friday, September 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for prep work.
In Montgomery County, Salford Station Road will see lane closures. The closures are set for Sunday, August 25, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, during the same time, as well as from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. These are for milling and paving between Route 29 and Old Skippack Pike.
Motorists should plan for additional travel time due to expected delays. The resurfacing projects aim to seal roadways, enhancing safety and providing a smoother ride for commuters. All activities depend on favorable weather conditions. PennDOT continues to prioritize infrastructure improvements to benefit the region’s transportation network.
