REAMSTOWN, PA — A Manheim woman is facing multiple charges following an alleged break-in. The East Cocalico Township Police Department reported that Mindy Lou Konrad, 35, was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, and public drunkenness.

The unusual episode unfolded on the morning of February 10, 2024, around 7:50 a.m., on the 1st block of North Reamstown Road. According to the homeowner, she woke up to find an unfamiliar woman, later identified as Konrad, sleeping on her sofa. The homeowner quickly called 911, and the intruder fled the scene.

Responding officers located Konrad a short distance away from the residence. In an odd turn of events, Konrad was found wearing the homeowner’s shoes. Further investigations revealed that Konrad had an outstanding bench warrant for her arrest through the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department.

Following her arrest, Konrad was arraigned at Lancaster County Central Booking and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of bail.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the unexpected nature of crime and the importance of maintaining vigilance even in our own homes. Despite the peaceful surroundings that Reamstown residents enjoy, unexpected incidents such as this one underscore the need for robust home security measures and quick action in response to suspicious activities.

While these allegations against Konrad are serious, it’s important to remember that they are just that — allegations. An individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
