Unknown Woman Steals Purse from St. Peter Cathedral in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia police are on the hunt for an unidentified woman who allegedly stole a purse from an employee’s office at St. Peter Cathedral on December 13, 2023. The cathedral is located on the 1000 block of North 5th Street.

According to a press release by the Philadelphia Police Department, the alleged theft occurred around 11:00 AM. The suspect reportedly entered the cathedral and removed an employee’s purse, which contained personal identification and credit cards, from the office area without permission.

Following the alleged theft, the woman was seen fleeing the scene in a white Jeep SUV. As of now, the authorities have not been able to identify or apprehend the suspect.

In their efforts to solve this case, the Philadelphia Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance. They warn that if anyone spots the suspect, they should not approach her but instead immediately dial 911.
