SPRING HOUSE, PA — The Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) has granted the University of Phoenix’s Master of Health Administration (MHA) program a coveted spot in the CAHME Mentorship Circle (CMC). The CMC designation recognizes programs that demonstrate commitment to mentorship, the dissemination of best practices, and continuous improvement in healthcare management education.
“Being part of the CMC is more than an honor; it’s a pledge to the field,” stated Dr. Anthony Stanowski, president and CEO of CAHME. The designation underscores the university’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in healthcare management education.
The CMC designation allows the University of Phoenix to join a national dialogue aimed at enhancing all CAHME-accredited programs. “Becoming a CMC Program means that the diverse voices of our students and faculty will contribute to this important discussion,” shared Dr. Heather Steiness, Associate Dean, Graduate Programs at the University of Phoenix College of Health Professions.
The University of Phoenix’s MHA program is designed for early- to mid-career health professionals seeking advanced education while remaining employed. The program equips students with the necessary competencies to grow professionally, drive cross-system transformation in line with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Triple Aim, and engage constructively with their communities.
The program’s philosophy centers around cultivating health sector leaders who are authentic, transparent, and creative. These leaders are expected to think critically and with agility, comfortably straddling the intersection of industry expertise and academic scholarship.
“Being a CMS Program allows us to contribute to the continuous improvement of all CAHME accredited programs while continuing to evolve ours,” stated Dr. Mark Johannsson, dean of the College of Health Professions at the University of Phoenix.
The recognition by CAHME reaffirms the University of Phoenix’s commitment to high-quality healthcare management education and its drive to shape future leaders in the health sector. It also highlights the university’s dedication to continuous improvement, a key aspect of maintaining CAHME accreditation.
