BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that nighttime construction will take place next week on Rockhill Drive in Bensalem Township, as part of a substantial $116 million infrastructure project. The initiative aims to reconstruct, widen, and enhance a three-mile stretch of U.S. 1 in Bucks County.
From Monday, November 4, through Thursday, November 7, construction crews will implement a single lane pattern in both directions on Rockhill Drive, spanning from Old Lincoln Highway to Neshaminy Boulevard. This schedule will run from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM each night. The work will focus on drainage installation and bridge painting, crucial steps in the broader effort to improve this critical transportation corridor.
This construction activity forms part of the U.S. 1/RC2 contract, which seeks to expand and upgrade U.S. 1 from just south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange. These enhancements are anticipated to significantly boost traffic flow and safety in the area.
Motorists are advised to plan for potential delays and adjust travel times accordingly. Current road conditions can be monitored via the MyChesCo Traffic Center, ensuring that drivers remain informed of any changes that may impact their commute.
