Two Men Arrested on Drug Charges in Wilmington, Delaware

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested two men on allegations of drug-related activity in a recent operation.

On February 20, at approximately 1:56 p.m., officers from the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the 1000 block of North Pine Street when they reportedly observed two men involved in drug-related activity. The individuals, identified as 22-year-old Marshaun Backus and 22-year-old Marshawn Backus, were taken into custody without incident.

Police report recovering 207.8 grams of marijuana, $525 in cash, and drug paraphernalia at the scene.

Marshaun Backus faces charges that include possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, second-degree conspiracy, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $13,000 cash-only bail.
