Two Men Arrested on Drug Charges in Wilmington

Arrest

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested two 19-year-old men on drug charges following observations made by members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division.

On January 22, around 12:25 p.m., officers were situated in the 400 block of West 7th Street when they reportedly witnessed a male engaged in suspected drug-related activity. The individuals, identified as Jaheem White and Yimier Sharpe, were taken into custody without incident. A subsequent investigation led to the recovery of 4.3 grams of crack cocaine, 574.9 grams of marijuana, $390 in cash, and drug paraphernalia.

White has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and later released after posting $5,100 in secured bail.

Sharpe, on the other hand, faces a single charge of possession of a controlled substance. After his arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 11, he was released on $100 unsecured bail.

As this case continues, it’s important to remember that an arrest or a criminal complaint does not equate to guilt. All defendants, including White and Sharpe, are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. As is typical in ongoing investigations, information may evolve as further details emerge.
