RADNOR, PA — Triumph Group, Inc. (NYSE: TGI), a leading provider of aerospace and defense products and services, has recently secured a five-year contract with the United States Army. The deal involves an upgrade of the Hydraulic Metering Assembly (HMA) fuel control on the T55 engines that power the Army’s fleet of CH-47 Chinook helicopters.
Triumph’s Systems, Electronics and Controls business in West Hartford, Connecticut, is set to overhaul more than 100 EMC32T HMAs each year from 2024 through 2028. This project will bring the fleet up to the latest configuration as part of the U.S. Army’s Component Improvement Program (CIP).
As the original designer and manufacturer of the fuel control system, Triumph is uniquely positioned to provide this service. The company’s extensive portfolio includes designing, manufacturing, repairing, and overhauling a broad range of aerospace and defense components, accessories, subassemblies, systems, and aircraft thermal management systems.
“Triumph is proud of our longstanding partnership with the U.S. Army and our ability to provide deep experience and expertise along with cost efficiency and increased reliability of the HMA,” said Justin Wolfanger, President of Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls. “This five-year award strengthens that relationship while providing our military with the best equipment to support its mission.”
For shareholders, the agreement also brings promising growth opportunities for Triumph’s Systems, Electronics and Controls business unit. With the HMA program set to expand in the coming years, Triumph is well positioned to capitalize on this market demand and continue driving success for both shareholders and the U.S. Army.
