RADNOR, PA — Triumph Group, Inc. (NYSE: TGI), a prominent player in the aerospace and defense industry, has announced a significant contract extension with MD Helicopters. Triumph’s Geared Solutions business, based in Macomb, Michigan, will continue to manufacture and assemble main rotor gearbox transmissions for the MD500 platforms.
This agreement marks a continuation of the two-decade-long relationship between Triumph and MD Helicopters. Over this period, Triumph has produced over 400 gearboxes for the MD500 program. With the new contract extension, Triumph will carry on supplying helicopter transmissions and transmission spare parts for the program.
Pete Gibson, President of Triumph Geared Solutions, expressed his pleasure at extending the company’s relationship with MD Helicopters. “The growing demand for helicopter orders is evidence of the leadership and operational performance at MD Helicopters, and we are proud to partner with them as they increase production rates up to 30 per year,” Gibson said.
Triumph Geared Solutions is the largest independent aerospace gear and gear box provider. It offers complex geared solutions including design, development, testing, manufacturing, and support of complete transmission and gearbox assemblies, as well as complex gears and housing.
