RADNOR, PA — Triumph Group, Inc. (NYSE:TGI) has been recognized for its commitment to environmental stewardship at its Product Support business in Grand Prairie, Texas. The company’s recent accolades from the City of Grand Prairie underscore the increasing importance of sustainable practices within the aerospace industry.
Triumph received the 2022-2023 Pretreatment 100% Compliance Award, acknowledging the company’s adherence to the city’s wastewater pretreatment and environmental requirements. This year’s award marks the fifth consecutive time Triumph has been honored with this distinction, reflecting its consistent commitment to environmental compliance.
In addition to the Pretreatment Compliance Award, Triumph was recognized for its participation in the annual North Texas Clean Air Challenge. As part of the challenge, Triumph implemented an education campaign promoting actions to reduce air pollution. Initiatives included lunch-and-learn programs, company-wide communications, and encouraging employees to commit to the Clean Air Action Pledge. These efforts resulted in increased employee participation in clean air initiatives such as carpooling and subscribing to air pollution alerts from Air North Texas.
The Clean Air Challenge is a collaborative effort between the City of Grand Prairie and Air North Texas, a non-profit organization that aims to promote consistent air quality messages and public awareness to reduce emissions. Triumph joined other local companies in participating in the challenge, contributing to a broader community effort to curb air pollution.
Jim Berberet, President of Triumph Product Support, reflected on the significance of these awards. “These efforts extend beyond the local community, contributing to Triumph’s larger commitment to environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG),” he said. “The pretreatment compliance and Clean Air Action Pledge align with our corporate goals related to ESG risk management and the reduction of wastewater effluent and air emissions.”
Triumph’s recognition for environmental compliance and commitment to clean air initiatives signals a shift in the aerospace industry’s approach to sustainability. As environmental concerns become increasingly intertwined with corporate responsibility, Triumph’s efforts may serve as a model for other companies in the industry seeking to align their operations with sustainable practices.
