WEST READING, PA — Brad Cosgrove, TowerDIRECT’s Director and Chief of EMS, has been recognized as one of the 2024 Forty Under 40 recipients by Lehigh Valley Business. This prestigious award acknowledges young professionals in the Greater Lehigh Valley who have demonstrated excellence in their careers and contributed significantly to their communities.
Cosgrove, a seasoned paramedic and volunteer firefighter, leads a team of 150 clinicians at TowerDIRECT, orchestrating over 30,000 emergency dispatches each year. He is celebrated for his disaster relief efforts and strategic initiatives that have broadened the reach of TowerDIRECT’s life-saving services. “I’m excited to represent TowerDIRECT and Tower Health as one of this year’s Forty Under 40 honorees,” Cosgrove said. “This recognition is a tribute to the hard work of our TowerDIRECT team, which continues to set the standard. I’m proud of all we have accomplished and the ways we have contributed to community care. I am eager to see what we can achieve next.”
TowerDIRECT, a non-profit EMS agency, provides critical 911 response services across 19 townships and boroughs in Berks and Chester counties. Under Cosgrove’s leadership, the agency has implemented innovative programs like the blood-carrying initiative, enabling TowerDIRECT to be the first in Pennsylvania to have paramedics trained to administer blood in pre-hospital settings. This pioneering program now serves as a model for EMS agencies statewide.
“What continues to impress me about Brad is his eagerness to learn,” said Michael Stern, Tower Health President and Chief Operating Officer. “I am proud of the amount of effort he puts into his work, his career growth, and the support and encouragement he provides to his team. I congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition.”
Beyond his role at TowerDIRECT, Cosgrove is actively involved with FEMA’s Pennsylvania Task Force-1 Search and Rescue team, where he has participated in numerous disaster relief efforts, including hurricane relief and the Surfside Towers collapse in Florida. He also continues to serve as a volunteer firefighter at Fame Fire Company #3, a commitment he has maintained since the age of 17.
Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media/Lehigh Valley Business, commented on the significance of the Forty Under 40 awards, stating, “The 2024 Forty Under 40 honorees are accomplished in their careers and also understand the importance of giving back to the community in meaningful ways. In addition, they inspire change and help make the Lehigh Valley the best place to live and work.”
Cosgrove’s recognition as one of the Forty Under 40 underscores his dedication to improving emergency medical services and his unwavering commitment to community service.
