BENSALEM TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced scheduled traffic signal replacement along Rockhill Drive in Bensalem Township next week, as part of a major infrastructure improvement project.
From Monday, April 28, through Friday, May 2, intermittent lane closures will occur in both directions on Rockhill Drive, between Overlook Boulevard and Neshaminy Boulevard. The lane restrictions will be in effect overnight, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with flaggers on site to guide traffic.
PennDOT warns motorists to anticipate delays and recommends allowing extra travel time when passing through the affected area. The construction schedule is weather dependent and subject to change based on conditions.
The traffic signal replacement is a component of PennDOT’s broader $116 million U.S. 1/RC2 project, which targets the reconstruction, widening, and enhancement of a three-mile stretch of U.S. 1. The work spans from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange in Bucks County.
Drivers are urged to remain alert when traveling near construction zones to ensure the safety of workers and the traveling public.
