PHILADELPHIA, PA — Construction is scheduled at night on Interstate 95 at the Bridge Street Interchange in Northeast Philadelphia under a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) project to reconstruct I-95 between Margaret Street and Carver Street.
On Thursday, November 9, and Friday, November 10, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a right lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 between the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange and Bridge Street for barrier placement and utility work; and
Additionally, on Monday, November 13, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a right lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 between the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange and Bridge Street to set up a new traffic pattern in the work area.
The new pattern will move three lanes of northbound I-95 traffic approaching Bridge Street to the east for construction in the median area. The median work is part of the preparation of a long-term traffic pattern that shifts northbound and southbound I-95 traffic to the east through the entire work zone for reconstruction of the southbound side of I-95 beginning in early 2024.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
