BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Motorists in Bucks County should brace for traffic disruptions as PECO Energy undertakes utility construction on key state highways, potentially leading to significant backups and delays. The work, which aims to enhance utility infrastructure, will affect travel on Route 332 (Newtown Bypass) and Lindenhurst Road, starting Monday, May 20.

The construction schedule includes a weeknight lane closure from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning on Route 332 (Newtown Bypass) in both directions at the intersection with Lindenhurst Road in Newtown Township, continuing until Friday, May 31. In a more extended project, a weekday closure will occur on Lindenhurst Road between Route 332 (Newtown Bypass) and Route 532 (Washington Crossing Road) in Newtown and Lower Makefield townships, slated from May 20 through September 30, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

During the Lindenhurst Road closure, drivers will be rerouted via Route 332 (Newtown Bypass), Durham Road, and Route 532 (Washington Crossing Road). Despite these detours, local access up to the work zone will remain open, ensuring minimal disruption to residents.

PECO Energy, operating under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit, urges travelers to allocate extra time for their journeys through these areas.
