Traffic Camera Replacement Scheduled on I-95 Girard Point Bridge

Traffic Alert

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced the upcoming replacement of traffic cameras on the northbound Interstate 95 Girard Point Bridge in Philadelphia. The work is set to begin on Monday, September 9, and will continue through Friday, September 13. This maintenance will occur nightly from 9:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following morning.

During these times, drivers should expect either left or right lane closures on the bridge’s northbound deck, which lies between Penrose Avenue (Route 291) and Broad Street (Route 611). The lane closures are necessary to ensure the safe and efficient installation of new traffic cameras, aimed at improving traffic monitoring and management.

Motorists are advised to plan for potential delays and allow extra time for travel through the affected area. The scheduled activities are contingent upon favorable weather conditions, and any changes to the timeline will be communicated by PennDOT.
