Traffic Alert: Bridge Inspections Scheduled on I-95 and I-76 Next Week

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that bridge inspections will take place next week on Interstate 95 in Center City Philadelphia and on the I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in Montgomery County.

On Monday, August 12, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the right lane of southbound I-95 will be closed between the Girard Avenue (Exit 23) and I-676 (Exit 22) interchanges. That afternoon, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the left lane on the ramp from northbound I-95 to westbound I-676 will also be closed.

Tuesday, August 13, will see a right or left lane closure on northbound I-95 between the I-676 (Exit 22) and Girard Avenue (Exit 23) interchanges from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Additionally, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the left lane of eastbound I-76 between the U.S. 202 and Gulph Mills interchanges will be closed.

Inspections continue on Wednesday, August 14, with a right lane closure from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on the ramp from northbound I-95 to westbound I-676. Later, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the left lane of northbound I-95 between the I-676 (Exit 22) and Girard Avenue (Exit 23) interchanges will be closed.

On Thursday, August 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right or left lane closure will be in place on the ramp from eastbound I-676 to southbound I-95.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time through these areas due to potential slowdowns. All planned activities are weather dependent.

PennDOT emphasizes that these inspections are essential for ensuring the safety and integrity of the bridge structures. Please plan accordingly and exercise caution when traveling through the work zones.
