PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Health Equity Consulting (HEC) Group has unveiled its Health Equity Internship Program, offering students and trainees an immersive experience in addressing health and social inequities. This initiative aims to develop future leaders in health equity, equipping participants with the tools and knowledge to drive meaningful change across public health and healthcare systems.

“We are committed to fostering the next generation of leaders in health equity,” said Dr. Whitney Perkins Witt, President & CEO of The Health Equity Consulting Group. “This internship provides students with a unique opportunity to engage with cross-sector partners, apply population health knowledge in real-world settings, and directly contribute to advancing health equity.”

Interns in the program will collaborate with healthcare providers, nonprofits, academic institutions, and government agencies to address systemic inequities. Key areas of focus include stakeholder engagement, grant writing, policy development, data analytics, program implementation, and health equity accreditation. Additionally, participants will contribute to initiatives targeting social determinants of health, Medicaid policy, maternal health, and mental health.

The program seeks motivated applicants with strong communication skills, a passion for advancing social justice, and experience or coursework in policy development, data analysis, or stakeholder engagement. Interns will gain valuable expertise through hands-on projects, exposure to AI-driven analytics, and application of implementation science frameworks.

The internship is remote, lasts 6–12 months with flexible scheduling, and is unpaid but eligible for course credit. Applicants are required to submit a resume, cover letter, and writing sample, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

With its focus on collaboration, innovation, and education, the Health Equity Internship Program is positioned to make a lasting impact on health disparities and social justice efforts, empowering emerging leaders to champion equity in healthcare and beyond.
