Suspect Sought in Connection With September Homicide in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively seeking to identify a suspect believed to be connected to a fatal shooting that took place on September 7, 2022. The incident resulted in the death of a 21-year-old individual and occurred at approximately 8:34 p.m. in the 2800 block of North Orkney Street.

The suspect, as depicted in surveillance video excerpts obtained from the scene, was seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or jacket and black pants. Most notably, the individual was operating a white motor scooter at the time of the alleged crime.

Following the incident, the suspect was last spotted fleeing northbound on 11th Street from Monmouth on the same motor scooter.

Authorities have cautioned the public not to approach the suspect if sighted, but to contact 911 immediately. Anyone with potential information about the crime or the suspect is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or 3335.
