NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — In a strategic move that broadens its footprint in the packaging industry, SupplyOne, Inc., the largest independent supplier of corrugated and other value-added packaging products in the U.S., has acquired Crownhill Packaging, a leading North American packaging distributor based in Toronto, Ontario.

Founded in 1986, Crownhill Packaging has positioned itself as one of North America’s premier full-service packaging distributors, boasting four locations across Canada and the U.S., including the Chicago area. The company is renowned for its customized packaging solutions, sustainable product offerings, and customer-centric service.

The acquisition marks a significant milestone for SupplyOne as it represents the company’s first international expansion. “The acquisition of Crownhill Packaging is an exciting step in the execution of our growth strategy,” said Todd Renehan, President and CEO of SupplyOne. “The company’s go-to-market strategy offers a significant opportunity to grow and expand in one of the largest metro areas in North America.”

This acquisition could have far-reaching implications for the packaging industry. For one, it allows SupplyOne to tap into Crownhill’s diverse customer base, which includes public sector agencies, industrial products, consumer goods, and e-commerce. Moreover, the merger of these two companies creates a more robust product and service portfolio, providing customers with a one-stop solution for their packaging needs.

Rodney Taylor, Vice President of Crownhill Packaging, also expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition. “Our service-oriented approach to customers aligns perfectly with the culture of SupplyOne, and we are delighted to be able to expand our product offering and geographic reach as part of the SupplyOne family,” he said.

The deal represents the 39th addition to the SupplyOne portfolio, further bolstering its presence across North America. With 18 corrugated production facilities and 45 distribution centers, SupplyOne’s national – and now international – footprint offers a comprehensive range of corrugated and packaging capabilities, with a strong focus on local marketplaces.

Ken Wong, Vice President of Crownhill Packaging, highlighted the potential for further growth within Canada. “SupplyOne’s service platform delivers personalized support with a robust manufacturing and distribution foundation. We’re enthusiastic about expanding our customer and vendor relationships, diversifying our product offerings, and pursuing further growth through acquisitions in Canada,” he said.

As SupplyOne carves out a larger share of the packaging market, this acquisition could potentially trigger a wave of consolidation within the industry, as other companies seek to compete on a similar scale. As the landscape continues to evolve, SupplyOne’s strategic growth plan may well set the stage for the future of the packaging sector.
