PHILADELPHIA, PA — A new art exhibit, Folding Space, curated by Philadelphia nonprofit arts organization InLiquid, is set to debut at Park Towne Place. The vibrant installation will explore the metaphysical themes of space, balance, and time through bold colors, dynamic shapes, and innovative mediums. Highlighting the work of six accomplished artists, the exhibit will be on display from February 21 through May 20, 2025, at 2200 Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
The exhibit brings together an eclectic mix of painters, sculptors, and mixed-media artists. Featured works include vibrant Color Bombs by Kurt Herrmann, organic ceramic sculptures by Diane Marimow, and Scott Troxel’s engaging explorations of time through hybrid materials. Melinda Steffy’s Songs translate melodies into a visual symphony, while Lynn Dunham’s pieces experiment with light and multidimensional space. Adding a literal balance to the exhibit, Philip Hart’s intricate mobiles juxtapose fragility and resilience.
“Each artist creates profound connections between human emotion, the natural world, and the intangible passage of time,” says a representative from InLiquid, underscoring the universal themes woven through Folding Space.
The exhibit will begin with an opening reception on Thursday, February 20, from 6 to 8 p.m., starting at the North Tower Gallery and progressing through the West and South Tower Galleries. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear the artists speak about their creative processes while enjoying light refreshments. Catering will be provided by Felicia Wilson, the celebrated chef behind acclaimed local restaurants like Amina and BlackHen Philly. The opening is free to the public and promises an engaging evening of art and conversation.
Park Towne Place’s rotating art exhibitions, curated by InLiquid, have played a significant role in enriching Philadelphia’s cultural landscape. With Folding Space, the program continues to offer the public a chance to experience innovative and thought-provoking artwork in the heart of the city. This exhibit is poised to further solidify Park Towne Place as a beacon for the city’s thriving art scene.
