Soundwall Replacement to Prompt Long-Term Ramp Closure in Springfield Township

Traffic Advisory

SPRINGFIELD TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that a long-term ramp closure will begin next month to accommodate soundwall removal and replacement operations in Delaware County.

Starting Monday, April 7, and continuing through Friday, August 15, the ramp connecting U.S. 1 North (Media Bypass/State Road) to Route 320 (Sproul Road) will be closed around the clock. Detour routes will redirect motorists via Springfield Road for westbound access to Route 320 and Springfield Road and Baltimore Pike for eastbound access to the same roadway.

Access to Collins Drive will remain open during the closure, though officials warn of potential backups and delays in the area. Drivers are encouraged to plan their routes in advance and allow extra travel time near the work zone.

PennDOT has emphasized that all planned work is dependent on favorable weather conditions to proceed as scheduled. Motorists should remain alert and exercise caution while navigating detour routes.
