SFA Therapeutics Appoints Dr. Ananda Gubbi as Director of Biostatistics to Enhance Drug Development

JENKINTOWN, PA — SFA Therapeutics, Inc. recently appointed Dr. Ananda Gubbi, Ph.D., as Director of Biostatistics, a strategic move to bolster the company’s drug development capabilities. With over 25 years of expertise in biostatistics, Dr. Gubbi brings invaluable experience from his roles in leading statistical analyses across preclinical and all phases of clinical trials. His advisory work with biotechnology and pharmaceutical firms spans multiple therapeutic areas, including immunology and oncology.

Dr. Gubbi has successfully guided nine submissions to regulatory bodies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, contributing to drug approvals and clinical trial designs. His scholarly contributions include 27 articles in peer-reviewed journals, underscoring his proficiency in the field.

“The success of SFA-002 and our other therapeutic candidates is contingent upon the safety, pharmacokinetic, and efficacy data in clinical trials. Dr. Gubbi’s prior roles include serving as Associate Director of Biostatistics at CPC Clinical Services and various biostatistician positions at companies like Genentech and Amgen. His foundational training was at the FDA as a Statistical Reviewer. Dr. Gubbi holds a Master of Arts in Math from the State University of New York, Buffalo, and a Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Memphis.

His appointment is anticipated to accelerate SFA Therapeutics’ clinical development efforts, driving innovations in immunology and anti-inflammatory treatments.
