PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Water Department has announced a significant sewer improvement project affecting the Market Street Ramp to Interstate 95 South. Starting Monday, September 9, the ramp will undergo a full closure, lasting until Sunday, September 22. This closure will be in effect around the clock, requiring motorists to adjust their travel plans accordingly.

Drivers heading southbound will need to use the designated detour, which directs traffic onto Columbus Boulevard and then onto the Morris Street Ramp to rejoin I-95 South. This route is intended to manage traffic flow while accommodating the necessary construction work.

Commuters are advised to plan for potential delays and allocate extra travel time when navigating the area. The Philadelphia Water Department has emphasized that all construction activities are subject to weather conditions, which could influence the project timeline.
