PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department’s Northeast Detectives are working tirelessly to identify the individuals and vehicle linked to a series of burglaries targeting the elderly in the city’s Northeast district.
These alleged criminals have been reported to gain access to residences by posing as utility workers offering to lower water bills. The suspects, described as white males wearing reflective vests, used this ruse to trick an elderly resident in the 8th district. A photograph of the vehicle believed to be used in the burglary was released by the police, but is not included in this article.
A similar incident occurred on February 14, 2024, during which a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver was reportedly stolen. At this time, no active warrant exists regarding these allegations.
Authorities are urging anyone who recognizes the described vehicle or suspects not to approach them but to contact 911 immediately. Tips can also be submitted via telephone by dialing 215.686.TIPS (8477) or by texting a tip to the same number. All tips will be treated as confidential.
To provide information directly to the Northeast Detective Division, callers can reach out at 215-686-3153/3154, asking for either Det. Kravitz (#851) or Det. Hollaway (#872).
While the search for the suspects continues, it’s important to remember that they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The charges against them are still allegations until proven in court. As such, while the details of the crimes are disturbing, the process of justice must still run its course. Information about this case may change as additional details emerge.
