OAKS, PA — Wayne Withrow, the Executive Vice President and Head of Global Asset Management at SEI (NASDAQ: SEIC), has announced his decision to step down from his position effective Feb. 28, 2024. After a distinguished tenure of over 30 years, Withrow is set to focus on other pursuits outside his professional life. SEI, a global provider of investment processing, management and operations solutions, will now initiate a search both internally and externally for Withrow’s successor.
Withrow’s departure marks the end of an era for SEI, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s evolution and growth. Over three decades, he held numerous significant roles across technology, operations, and asset management, making substantial contributions to the firm’s development with his strategic vision and leadership.
Joining SEI in 1990 as a vice president in the company’s legal department, Withrow quickly rose through the ranks. His diverse portfolio includes a stint as Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President for TRUST 3000®, SEI’s flagship asset management solution. He also spearheaded SEI’s Investment Managers business, further expanding his influence within the company.
Most notably, as the head of the Advisor business, Withrow was instrumental in refining SEI’s offerings and aligning its global asset management businesses. His leadership helped the company capitalize on market opportunities and paved the way for SEI’s next growth chapter.
His departure comes at a time when SEI continues to assert its presence in the competitive asset management industry. It is yet to be seen who will fill the gap left by Withrow and how this change will shape the future direction of the company. However, given SEI’s reputation for strategic planning and robust leadership transition processes, the firm is expected to navigate this change smoothly.
The imminent leadership change underscores the dynamic nature of the asset management industry, where experienced leaders like Withrow will always be remembered for their contributions. As he prepares to embark on the next stage of his journey, SEI is expected to continue leveraging its robust capabilities in investment processing and management, carrying forward the legacy of innovation and growth that Withrow helped establish.
