Route 772 Ramp Closure: Weekend Traffic Alert in Lancaster County

Traffic Restrictions

LANCASTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced the closure of the Route 772 ramp to northbound Route 222 for the weekend. This closure is part of a 3.3-mile pavement preservation project affecting Manheim, Warwick, and West Earl townships.

The ramp will be closed from 8:00 PM on Friday, September 6, until 6:00 AM on Monday, September 9. During this period, the contractor will reconstruct a section of the ramp. Motorists should follow the detour via Route 222 south to Route 272 (Oregon Pike) Exit, then Route 272 south to Jake Landis Road, and finally, Butter Road to access northbound Route 222.

Additionally, the northbound off-ramp at the Brownstown/Rothsville/Route 772 Exit will close from 8:00 PM Monday, September 9, to 6:00 AM Tuesday, September 10, for paving. A detour will guide drivers north to the Ephrata/Route 322 Exit and back south on Route 222 to the Brownstown/Rothsville/Route 772 Exit.

Nightly paving on northbound lanes will continue from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM, necessitating lane restrictions. The project includes bituminous resurfacing, milling, base repair, concrete patching, and updates to guide rails, signage, and line painting. Work on northbound lanes, including ramps, is set to finish this year, while southbound work will conclude next year.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., of New Enterprise, PA, leads this $8,486,591 project, expected to wrap up by October 20, 2025. Motorists are urged to exercise caution through the work zone.
