Route 23 in Lancaster County Gets Ready for Base Repairs: Brace for Delays, Seek Alternate Routes

LANCASTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that a PennDOT maintenance crew in Lancaster County is scheduled to perform base repairs on Route 23 from Route 625 to the Berks County line. This work will require lane restrictions under flagging that could cause major delays.

Weather permitting, work will begin Friday, September 15, and will continue through Friday, September 22. Work is expected to begin each day at 6:30 AM and will continue during daylight hours. Crews will begin at Route 625 and work east toward the Berks County line, then head west from the Berks County line back toward Route 625.

There will be lane restrictions under flagging. Delays are expected. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
