BLUE BELL, PA — Rego Payment Architectures, Inc. (OTCQB: RPMT) has unveiled several accessibility features designed for the visually impaired. These enhancements aim to help financial institutions offer youth banking products that cater to families with visually impaired children, enabling them to learn and practice critical financial literacy skills.
The new features include the ability for users to adjust the contrast between foreground text and the background, as well as change the font size on the screen for better readability. These modifications have been designed in accordance with the guidelines provided by the American Disabilities Act for Web Accessibility.
Peter S. Pelullo, CEO at REGO, highlighted the importance of these features. “With this latest release, financial institutions who use REGO can be more inclusive in their offering of youth banking products,” Pelullo said. “We believe that if more children learn critical spending and savings skills early, they will be able to make smarter financial decisions as they reach adulthood.”
According to data from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), over 5 million children under the age of 18 have some form of eye or vision condition. More than 200,000 of these children are classified as “visually impaired,” meaning they have difficulty seeing even when using glasses or contact lenses.
REGO’s latest release aims to address this challenge, providing visual aids that will allow these children to use its mobile app effectively. The move represents a significant stride towards ensuring that financial literacy tools and resources are accessible to all, regardless of physical abilities. It also underscores the growing awareness among fintech companies about the need to build products that are inclusive and cater to a diverse user base.
