KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — Recovery Centers of America (RCA) is joining a pioneering nationwide network aimed at increasing access to substance use treatment and improving patient outcomes. RCA, known for its comprehensive and individualized treatment programs, has partnered with Pelago, a digital clinic specializing in substance use management for businesses and health plans.
This partnership represents a significant advancement in substance use disorder treatment. RCA will leverage Pelago’s technology to extend its support structure, enhancing the treatment journey for those seeking sobriety. Brett Cohen, CEO of RCA, emphasized the importance of reaching patients where they are. “This new, innovative model allows us to share our world-class treatment program with Pelago’s members and improve care completion rates,” Cohen said. He added that this partnership moves RCA closer to its ambitious goal of saving one million lives.
Pelago, the first digital substance use treatment provider for tobacco, alcohol, opioids, and cannabis, has established a network of pre-vetted inpatient treatment centers. RCA will provide evidence-based treatment and 24/7 care in a structured environment for high-acuity patients identified by Pelago. Post-treatment, both organizations will collaborate to support patients, aiming to prevent relapse and readmission.
Yusuf Sherwani, M.D., Co-Founder and CEO of Pelago, highlighted the challenges patients face in finding suitable high-acuity care. “From cost to referrals, numerous barriers hinder entry into recovery,” he noted. By partnering with RCA, Pelago aims to provide proper clinical referrals and care management pathways. The goal is to ensure that members receive the right care, at the right time, in the right facility.
This collaboration marks a step forward in addressing the complexities of substance use treatment. It promises to streamline access to high-quality care, potentially transforming the landscape of addiction recovery and supporting individuals on their path to lasting sobriety.
