WEST READING, PA — Patients across Pennsylvania now have easier access to their medications thanks to Reading Hospital Pharmacy’s expanded home delivery service. The service, which was previously limited to a 30-mile radius of West Reading, now offers medication delivery to homes statewide.

Patients of Reading Hospital and Tower Health can use the MyTowerHealth app to request medication deliveries, simplifying the process and increasing convenience. Stephanie Goldman, PharmD, Vice President of Pharmacy Operations at Tower Health, explained the significance of this advancement. “At Tower Health, we want to simplify the process for medication access, and our expanded home delivery service allows us to take one more thing off a patient’s to-do list,” she said, emphasizing the hospital’s commitment to patient care and customer service.

This service will benefit patients who face difficulties visiting retail pharmacies, such as those dealing with health challenges, childcare responsibilities, or demanding work schedules. By removing these barriers, the expanded delivery option ensures medications are available to all patients regardless of their location or circumstances.

Patients interested in using the delivery service can follow these simple steps through their MyTowerHealth account:

  1. Log in and select the “Medications” option.
  2. Choose “Request refills” and select the medication(s) to refill.
  3. Select “Deliver by mail or courier service to home” as the delivery method.
  4. Confirm the delivery address and pay for the medication through the app.

The delivery service itself is free, though patients must complete payment for the medications via the app. Delivery times vary from same day to up to five days, depending on the availability of the medication and the delivery location.

“Home medication delivery is a direct result of Stephanie and the pharmacy team listening to patients and prioritizing their feedback,” said Michael Stern, COO and President of Tower Health. He praised the pharmacy team’s work in launching the expanded service and their dedication to providing care that puts patients’ needs first.

With this statewide expansion, Reading Hospital Pharmacy continues to balance innovation and patient-centered care, ensuring Pennsylvanians have reliable and hassle-free access to their medications.
