READING, PA — The City of Reading Fire Department has received a custom-built Classic II Aluminum service truck from Reading Truck, provided at no cost to the city. This specialized vehicle, designed to streamline fire apparatus maintenance, is a significant contribution that not only enhances operational efficiency but also represents substantial financial savings for the department.
The project was led by Fire Department Mechanic Emergency Vehicle Technician Josiah Fegley and Deputy Chief Mike Glore, who collaborated closely with Reading Truck to develop a vehicle tailored to the department’s specific needs. The new truck is expected to improve on-site maintenance and repair capabilities, ensuring the reliability and readiness of the department’s fleet.
“This partnership with Reading Truck demonstrates the power of local businesses giving back to their community,” said Mayor Eddie Morán. “Their generosity provides a direct benefit to our Fire Department and ultimately to the residents of Reading. I want to thank Reading Truck, Deputy Chief Glore, and all involved for making this project a reality.”
