PHILADELPHIA, PA — Proscia® has raised $50 million in its latest funding round, bringing its total funding to $130 million. This investment, led by Insight Partners, follows a year of record-breaking growth for the digital pathology innovator. Proscia now works with 16 of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies and facilitates diagnoses for over 22,000 patients daily through its Concentriq® software platform.
Proscia aims to modernize pathology, a field central to up to 70% of clinical decisions, by shifting workflows from microscopes to AI-powered, data-rich digital images. Its Concentriq platform aids both drug discovery and diagnostic efficiency, driving precision medicine advances and helping address growing pressures from pathologist shortages and increasing cancer diagnoses.
“We are living through an extraordinary moment in medicine,” said David West, Proscia’s CEO. “Demand for advanced diagnostics is surging, digital pathology is gaining global traction, and AI is moving faster than the boldest predictions made just a few years ago. Patients are waiting to realize the future of precision medicine. With this investment, we will ensure that more pathologists and scientists can deliver it.”
The company plans to use the new funding to expand its customer base, reinforce its industry partnerships with Agilent Technologies and Siemens Healthineers, and further enhance its AI-driven platform. Proscia’s precision medicine AI offerings, including Concentriq Embeddings, have already demonstrated the potential to accelerate AI development by 13x, enabling advancements in biomarker discovery, clinical trials, and companion diagnostics.
“Insight has had a long-standing thesis on digitization and AI in pathology, and we’ve been waiting for a winner to emerge,” said Scott Barclay, Managing Director at Insight Partners. “Proscia is poised to be that leader. With its fast-growing customer base and strong champions of its product, it will continue to solidify its position as digital pathology moves into the mainstream.”
This investment strengthens Proscia’s position in transforming pathology, allowing breakthroughs in precision medicine and providing the tools pathologists and scientists need to improve patient outcomes.
