Proscia Launches Cutting-Edge AI Tools in Pathology

Proscia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Proscia this week introduced two innovative tools, Concentriq Embeddings and the Proscia AI Toolkit, set to transform AI development in pathology. By integrating these tools with the Concentriq platform, Proscia aims to fast-track the discovery and development of new therapies and diagnostics for life sciences organizations.

Concentriq Embeddings allows pathology and data science teams to create high-dimensional embeddings from whole slide images. These numerical representations, derived from advanced models such as DINOv2, PLIP, ConvNext, and CTransPath, empower researchers with state-of-the-art resources for accurate model development. This capability supports multiple applications, including image classification and risk scoring, which are crucial for enhancing biomarker discovery accuracy.

David West, CEO of Proscia, highlighted the transformative potential of these advancements: “It’s an exciting time at the intersection of medicine and technology. The proliferation of digital pathology and explosion in capabilities of today’s AI models bring a totally new scale to how to develop therapies and diagnose patients.”

The immediate access to pathology data within the Concentriq platform eliminates the need for external data processing, allowing rapid AI model development and iteration. This integration, further enhanced by Proscia’s real-world data offerings, enables the creation of clinically viable AI models with unprecedented speed.

During pilot programs, Concentriq Embeddings significantly reduced AI development times. Data scientists were able to develop algorithms 13 times faster, creating 80 AI-based breast cancer biomarker models in under 24 hours, demonstrating the tool’s potential to expedite therapeutic development.

To complement this, the Proscia AI Toolkit offers open-source resources that facilitate quick AI adoption. This includes a Python client for seamless API integration, extensive Jupyter Notebook tutorials, and a library of helper functions, simplifying AI model development.
