Prepare for Delays: Crucial Bridge Inspections Prompt Lane Closures on I-95 and Key Philadelphia Highways

Lane Closure - Traffic Alert

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a series of bridge inspections scheduled for next week, necessitating lane closures on Interstate 95 and several other major routes within Philadelphia. These inspections are crucial for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of the region’s transportation infrastructure.

On Wednesday, November 6, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, motorists should anticipate a right lane closure on the eastbound I-76 ramp leading to the Grays Ferry Avenue/University Avenue Interchange. The following day, Thursday, November 7, a brief right lane closure will occur from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on the eastbound I-676 (Vine Street Expressway) ramp to southbound I-95. Later that morning, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a similar closure will affect the northbound I-95 ramp to westbound I-676.

Further impacting traffic, on Friday, November 8, alternating lane closures are planned on southbound Delaware Avenue between Berks Street and Palmer Street, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Motorists traversing these areas are advised to allow additional travel time and anticipate potential delays due to the scheduled activities.
