PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a series of bridge inspections set to take place on the George C. Platt Bridge (Route 291) and various state highways within Philadelphia. These inspections are crucial for ensuring the safety and structural integrity of the infrastructure.

Commencing on Monday, November 11, and Tuesday, November 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, motorists will encounter intermittent and alternating lane closures in both directions on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the Fox Street and Broad Street (Route 611) interchanges. On Tuesday, November 12, a left lane closure is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on northbound U.S. 1 between the Broad Street (Route 611) and the Wingohocking Street/9th Street interchanges.

The inspections continue on Wednesday, November 13, with alternating lane closures in both directions on the George C. Platt Bridge (Route 291) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Additionally, on Thursday, November 14, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in effect on Richmond Street between Castor Avenue and Wheatsheaf Lane.
