Pipe Repairs on I-95 to Cause Major Traffic Delays in Northeast Philadelphia

Travel Restrictions

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced significant traffic disruptions this Friday due to scheduled pipe repairs on Interstate 95 in Northeast Philadelphia.

On Friday, June 14, a right lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 between the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange (Exit 26) and Bridge Street Interchange (Exit 27) from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Additionally, from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure will affect the Aramingo Avenue on-ramp to southbound I-95 at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange.

Drivers should allow extra time when traveling through these areas, as significant backups and delays are expected. All activities are weather dependent.

These pipe repairs are part of “punch-list” items under PennDOT’s recently completed I-95/BR2 project, which involved replacing four ramp structures at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange.
