PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia’s burgeoning artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) community is set for a boost, thanks to an initiative by Philly AI Connect. The group, co-founded by Victor Raymond Tabaac, Peter Mastrogiacomo, and William Francis, aims to bring together AI practitioners, researchers, and enthusiasts in the city, fostering a vibrant, collaborative space for knowledge-sharing and innovation.
In a city famous for its cheesesteaks, Pat’s King of Steaks is stepping up as the sponsor for the group’s inaugural event on March 28th, themed “Democratizing AI in Philadelphia.” The event marks the beginning of Philly AI Connect’s mission to transform Philadelphia into a hub for AI thought leadership.
Tabaac, speaking on behalf of the co-founders, highlighted the potential within the city, stating, “Philadelphia is ripe with talent and ideas. What we need is a forum that connects these individuals, encouraging the talent nurtured here to stay and contribute to the local tech scene.”
Philly AI Connect aims to be that connecting force, bridging the gap between the city’s dynamic tech environment and its world-class universities. The group envisages a future where Philadelphia is not just consuming AI advancements but actively shaping them.
Mastrogiacomo echoed these sentiments, adding, “This event transcends the traditional concept of a meetup. It’s a collaborative hub where knowledge, ethics, and cutting-edge AI and ML innovations converge. Our collective effort is about actively shaping the future.”
The event will also mark the dawn of an unprecedented collaborative initiative aimed at democratizing AI in the city, as per Francis. Philly AI Connect plans to establish a dynamic platform for both AI experts and novices to engage in learning, networking, and skill enhancement through open-source projects, hackathons, and research discussions.
The inaugural event for Philly AI Connect promises insightful discussions on the latest AI trends, AI exhibits, and plenty of networking opportunities. It will be held on Thursday, March 28th, at 113 North Bread Street, Philadelphia, PA. Attendees can look forward to not just an enriching exchange of ideas but also food, drinks, and, in true Philadelphia spirit, cheesesteaks.
For more information and to RSVP, prospective attendees can visit the Philly AI Connect website or their Meetup page. As Tabaac puts it, “We aim to empower Philadelphia to ‘Get Wit AI’.” It seems that the city’s tech scene is ready to do just that.
