PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that resurfacing operations will take place in Philadelphia, leading to lane closures and expected traffic slowdowns.

From Tuesday, May 28, through Friday, May 31, lane closures are scheduled on Walnut Street between 33rd Street and Cobbs Creek Parkway from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM for line striping.

During the same week, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane closures will occur on Castor Avenue between Roosevelt Boulevard and Richmond Street for line striping.

The following week, from Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane closures are planned on Aramingo Avenue and Harbison Avenue between Wheatsheaf Lane and Roosevelt Boulevard for milling.

Motorists should plan for extra travel time as slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities depend on the weather.

These resurfacing and improvement projects aim to seal roadways with new asphalt, providing drivers with a safer and smoother surface.
