Philadelphia Police Seek Suspect in Early Morning Robbery on Septa Platform

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia Police Department is actively seeking a suspect involved in a robbery that took place on the Market Street Septa Platform on November 9, 2023. The incident occurred at approximately 5:00 am when a 51-year-old male was assaulted by an unknown black male and several other individuals who then proceeded to steal his cell phone and money.

The victim was on the 1500 block of the Market Street Septa Platform at the time of the assault. A video clip of the incident has been released by the police department in the hope that someone may recognize the suspect or provide valuable information leading to his capture.

The suspect is described as a black male with a beard and mustache, wearing a blue knit hat and all dark clothing. The Philadelphia Police have cautioned the public not to approach the suspect if spotted but to contact 911 immediately.

The Central Detective Division is handling the case under Det. Cifelli, and they are urging anyone with information about this crime or the suspect to get in touch.
