Philadelphia Police Seek Man Who Escaped Custody at Jefferson Hospital

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A manhunt is underway in Philadelphia as authorities search for a suspect who escaped custody at Jefferson Hospital. The offender, identified as Richard Renzo, also known as Richard White, was arrested early Monday morning, November 27, 2023, on a grand larceny warrant from New York City.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department’s 6th District, officers apprehended Renzo at 800 Market St at 3:09 a.m. He was also wanted on an open probation warrant from Philadelphia.

After his arrest, Renzo was transported to Jefferson Hospital due to an injury that occurred before police contact. However, Renzo managed to flee the hospital, sparking an ongoing investigation by Central Detectives.
