Philadelphia Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Shooting Suspect

PHILADELPHIA, PA — In the aftermath of a shooting incident that left a 19-year-old male wounded, the Philadelphia Police Department, along with the Shooting Investigation Group, is reaching out to the public for help in identifying a suspect involved in the event.

The incident occurred on the night of March 13, 2024, around 10:43 p.m., when officers from the 19th District were dispatched to the 5300 block of Lansdowne Avenue. The call was in response to a report of a person armed with a gun and multiple shots being heard in the vicinity. Upon arrival, law enforcement found a crime scene marked by 13 pieces of ballistic evidence, alongside a 19-year-old male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Authorities have since recovered video footage showing the suspect and his vehicle just moments before the shooting took place. The suspect has been described as a male with a medium brown complexion, sporting facial hair and clad in a light blue puffy coat with a hood.

The Philadelphia Police Department is urging anyone who encounters the suspect to avoid approaching him and to contact 911 immediately.
