PHILADELPHIA, PA — The East Detective Division of the Philadelphia Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in identifying a male suspect involved in an alleged firearm violation.

The incident took place on January 22, 2024, at approximately 6:32 a.m., inside a commercial establishment located at 2200 Wheatsheaf Lane. According to the police, the suspect was seen shoplifting within the business premises and managed to evade capture. Notably, before making his escape, the suspect reportedly hid a loaded firearm behind store merchandise.

The authorities have urged the public not to approach the suspect if they encounter him, but to call 911 immediately. The police also encourage those with any information about the crime or the suspect to contact the East Detective Division at 215-686-3243/3244. Detective Guinan, badge number 2781, is the investigating officer in the case. The case identification number is DC-24-24-005122.
