PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police are investigating an alleged hit-and-run that unfolded on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the intersection of 11th and Vine Street. The victim, a 53-year-old man, was left in critical but stable condition following the incident, which occurred at approximately 9:19 p.m.
According to authorities, the vehicle was traveling westbound on Vine Street with a green light when it allegedly struck the pedestrian, who was crossing the westbound lanes of Vine Street at a crosswalk. The driver then reportedly fled the scene without offering any aid to the victim, continuing westbound on Vine Street.
The victim was swiftly transported to Jefferson University Hospital by a PFD-Medic Unit, where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries. The scene of the incident has been secured, but no arrests have been made as of yet.
Police are seeking a dark or silver-colored SUV in connection to the case. They urge anyone who spots a vehicle matching this description not to approach but to contact 911 immediately.
