LANCASTER, PA — Emmanuel Woods, a 31-year-old Philadelphia resident, received an 8 to 16-year prison sentence on Monday for his involvement in a substantial methamphetamine distribution operation in Lancaster County. Lancaster County Judge Jeffrey A. Conrad delivered the sentence following Woods’ conviction at a bench trial in December 2023.

Woods was found guilty of transporting and intending to deliver 2.1 pounds of methamphetamine within East Lampeter Township, a clear violation of state law aimed at combating drug trafficking. This case highlights the ongoing battle against the methamphetamine trade, a drug known for its highly addictive properties and destructive impact on communities. In addition to the primary charges, Woods was also convicted of possessing drug paraphernalia, further underscoring the extent of his involvement in the drug trade.

The case against Woods stemmed from a meticulous investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police into a drug operation that spanned from Philadelphia to Lancaster. The breakthrough came on the evening of July 13, 2022, when law enforcement officers observed Woods and an accomplice arrive at a designated meeting point in a business parking lot on Lincoln Highway in East Lampeter Township. The duo was there to complete a sale of methamphetamine, but the transaction was swiftly intercepted by members of the Lancaster Station Vice/Narcotics Unit of the Pennsylvania State Police.

Subsequent to their arrest, a search warrant executed on the Honda Accord used by Woods and his codefendant led to the discovery of not only the methamphetamine but also items typically associated with drug distribution: plastic baggies, a digital scale, US currency, and bags designed to conceal these items.

Assistant District Attorneys Benjamin Baker and Kyle Linardo prosecuted the case, which concluded with Woods’ sentencing. The charges were filed by Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Michael Schatzmann.
