PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have announced a four-day “Global Entry enrollment blitz” scheduled to take place from January 15-18. The event, which will be held from 3-8 p.m. in the Terminal B/C Baggage Claim area, is aimed at expediting the enrollment process for pre-approved, low-risk travelers into the CBP’s Global Entry program.
The Global Entry program is an initiative by the CBP designed to streamline the arrival process for pre-approved travelers entering the United States. Instead of waiting in processing lines and filling out paperwork upon arrival, Global Entry members can enter through automatic kiosks at select airports, including PHL.
This program offers numerous benefits to international travelers, including no processing lines, no paperwork, access to expedited entry benefits, reduced wait times, and availability at major U.S. airports. Furthermore, the Global Entry status is valid for five years and includes TSA PreCheck, offering members expedited security screening for domestic flights as well.
The upcoming “blitz” at PHL is open to applicants who have been conditionally approved through the Global Online Enrollment System (GOES) and are waiting for an interview appointment. Over the course of the four-day event, 432 appointments will be made available to help fast-track these applicants into the program.
Those who have already applied and received GOES conditional approval can schedule their Global Entry blitz appointments by visiting the Trusted Traveler Programs website and using the provided access code. It is crucial to note that attendees must have a scheduled appointment before arriving at PHL for the event.
PHL has also announced that short-term and garage parking will be available for those attending the enrollment event. This partnership between PHL and the CBP is part of a broader effort to simplify and expedite the travel process for international travelers, which aims to improve customer service and enhance the overall travel experience.
