SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced its plan to undertake paving and sawcutting operations next week on state highways in Bucks and Montgomery counties. This is part of a larger, ambitious $14.9 million project aimed at upgrading stormwater management facilities on over 90 state highways across the five-county Philadelphia region.

From Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, motorists should anticipate lane closures at several locations. These include Route 213 (Old Lincoln Highway) in Middletown Township, Bucks County for sawcutting, and Bethlehem Pike in Hilltown Township, Bucks County, Church Road in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, Wynnewood Road in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, and Route 463 (Forty Foot Road) in Hatfield Township, Montgomery County all for paving.

Drivers are warned to allow extra time when traveling through these work areas as backups and delays will inevitably occur. The schedule is, of course, weather dependent.

Highway Materials, Inc. of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on this project, which is financed entirely with state funds.

Commuters are urged to exercise patience and caution during these public work projects.
