LOWER POTTSGROVE TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced construction plans for U.S. 422, Sanatoga Road, and Porter Road as part of an $83.6 million project to revamp 2.1 miles of the expressway and replace bridges in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County.
The construction schedule spans Monday, January 20, through Friday, January 24, with various lane closures and traffic stoppages expected. Westbound U.S. 422 will experience intermittent single lane closures from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM between the Sanatoga Interchange and Armand Hammer Boulevard for road and bridge work.
Sanatoga Road, between E. High Street and Linfield Road, and Porter Road, between E. High Street and Sanatoga Station Road, will undergo intermittent single lane closures and 15-minute stoppages daily from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM for bridge construction. Eastbound U.S. 422 will also see intermittent single lane closures between Keim Street and the Sanatoga Interchange from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time, as delays and backups are expected in all work zones. All scheduled activities are dependent on weather.
This project is a significant part of PennDOT’s effort to improve the infrastructure of U.S. 422 and its connected roadways, enhancing travel efficiency and safety in the area.
