PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a series of bridge inspections on Interstate 76 and several other state highways in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties, which may result in lane closures and traffic delays.
On Thursday, January 4, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the 30th Street and Interstate 676 (Vine Street Expressway) interchanges. Later that day, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, a right lane closure is also planned on eastbound I-76 between the 30th Street and South Street interchanges.
The schedule continues with an alternating left lane closure in both directions on Tacony Street between Aramingo Avenue and Bridge Street on Friday, January 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
In Montgomery County, an alternating left lane closure is scheduled in both directions on Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) at the Fort Washington/Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange in Upper Dublin Township. This closure, intended for Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge inspection, is set for Tuesday, January 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these work areas as slowdowns may occur due to the inspections. All scheduled activities are weather-dependent and subject to change.
