NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has revealed plans for the continuation of a safety improvement project on Route 3, also known as West Chester Pike, in Newtown Township, Delaware County. The construction work is scheduled to begin next week and is part of a broader effort to enhance road safety in the region.
The construction will take place from Monday, December 18, to Friday, December 22, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM each day. During this time, a lane closure is expected in both directions on West Chester Pike, between Boot Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue.
This essential work forms part of a local safety improvement project and aims to enhance the overall safety and efficiency of the highway. Route 3 is a vital corridor for local and regional traffic, and these improvements will greatly benefit the thousands of motorists who use this route daily.
Motorists are advised to factor in extra travel time when planning their journeys through the affected area, as backups and delays are anticipated. PennDOT urges drivers to stay alert and cautious when passing through the construction zone to ensure the safety of both workers and other road users.
As with all construction projects, the scheduled activities are dependent on the weather. Should adverse conditions arise, the construction schedule may be subject to change.
